Robotic surgery without a US$ 2M CAPEX on the hospital's ledger: platform, instruments, training and maintenance SLA in the contract. The OR pays for operation; Blue absorbs obsolescence.
Understand
The robotic surgical system brings articulated arms driven by a console — the surgeon operates seated, with high-definition 3D vision and scaled movements, while the arms hold the camera and instruments inside the patient. The clinical edge comes from precision (filtered tremor, seven degrees of freedom at the tips) and minimized access (~8 mm ports instead of laparotomy); the operational edge comes from standardizing the procedure. On current platforms, force sensors and perioperative data integration allow calibrating power, haptic feedback and per-procedure training.
What's in the contract
24/7 support and first visit within 24h — a rescheduled robotic surgery becomes a visible waiting list. Instruments are replenished per case and every swap is validated before the next procedure.
