Chest pain with a delayed ECG is a lost minute on diagnosis. Fixed monthly fee, electrodes included, staff training and battery/cable replacement in the contract.
Understand
The electrocardiograph records the heart's electrical activity in 3, 6 or 12 leads — it is the baseline cardiac screening exam in offices, urgent care and ambulances. Modern devices auto-calculate HR, intervals and QRS, print on thermal paper or export as PDF/DICOM, and integrate with the EHR. In urgent care and ED, it is the decision point for STEMI (ST-elevation infarction) — every minute from door to diagnosis impacts the outcome.
What's in the contract
An ECG without batteries, cables or electrodes on hand turns into a rescheduled exam and delayed STEMI diagnosis. In the Blue contract, the consumables kit (electrodes, cable, thermal paper) is restocked before it runs out, preventive service schedules battery replacement before expiration and corrective response has an SLA — the office does not become a parts closet.
